Austin-Area Musicians, DJs and Music Teachers: Join HAAM for Free
You can apply for HAAM membership year-round. If you perform, DJ or teach music in the Austin area, take a few minutes to see whether you qualify for healthcare and wellness support designed for working music professionals.
The Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) helps members find affordable health coverage and navigate care. Membership also provides access to free or discounted dental, vision, hearing, fitness, and mind-body services.
Eligible members may receive help with insurance premiums when funding is available. There is no cost to join HAAM. (HAAM)
Who can join?
WHO: Musicians, DJs, and music teachers living in Travis and surrounding counties.
WHAT: Members get free or discounted vision, dental, hearing, fitness, and mind-body care; health coverage enrollment and help paying premiums; help with navigating medical and mental healthcare; medication cost support; and access to exclusive social/educational events.
WHEN: Apply anytime, year-round.
INCOME: Under $63,000/year for a household of 1 (scales up for larger households).
COST: 100% FREE to join HAAM

HAAM’s current eligibility rule is household income at or below 400% of the Federal Poverty Level; the amount depends on household size. Applicants also provide evidence of recent music work, such as show listings, teaching information, releases or payment records. (HAAM)
Join now—and plan to renew during Open Enrollment
New members can apply throughout the year. HAAM’s Open Enrollment for existing members runs November 1 through December 15 every year, and is the annual period when members renew their HAAM membership and review their health coverage options. Even if you join before November, HAAM asks members to renew during Open Enrollment. (HAAM)
