The holidays are a time to come together, enjoy good company, and share a little kindness. This year, Austin Texas Musicians invites you to do all three at Christmas for Kids: Give the Gift of Music, our community holiday party at Sam’s Town Point, featuring live music by Cocktail Steel.
Join fellow musicians, friends, neighbors, and music supporters for an evening of holiday cheer with a purpose close to our hearts.

A Celebration That Gives Back
Our goal is to raise $2,000 to pay 10 Austin musicians $200 each to bring Christmas carols to children and families at Dell Children’s.
We’re working toward visits to both Dell Children’s hospital locations on December 23, sharing moments of music, comfort, and connection with families spending the holidays away from home.
Your support helps make those visits possible while providing paid performance opportunities for Austin’s working musicians. Every $200 raised funds one musician’s participation, and contributions of any size help us reach our goal.
Why This Mission Is Personal
For ATXM Executive Director Pat Buchta, the experience of spending Christmas in a hospital is something he knows firsthand.
Living with a rare, progressive liver disease, Pat spent many holidays in a hospital bed. Throughout his illness, music and the arts offered comfort, hope, and a way to connect with the world beyond his hospital room. A lifesaving liver transplant in 2012 gave him a second chance—and deepened his commitment to serving others.
“I was one of those sick kids myself, having spent many Christmases in a hospital bed, and I know how much just
a little bit of joy can mean during the holidays for these families,” Pat shares. “Christmas for Kids” is our chance
to help share that joy and begin a new holiday tradition rooted in community, compassion, and music.”
