On Tuesday, March 3rd, Austin’s music ecosystem gathers again.
Musicians, venues, producers, media, nonprofit leaders, and music-adjacent businesses will come together for an evening designed to spark connection, collaboration, and opportunity.
Hosted by Austin Texas Musicians, Night Shift is more than a mixer — it’s a movement supporting the future of Austin’s music community.

This is a listening-room–style experience designed for respect, attention, and support.
Performers pre-register online (link included in RSVP confirmation email)
Names are selected via lottery
Selected artists must check in on-site
Audience members actively listen and support

Open to all musicians and styles
Time limit per performer (includes tuning & intro)
Simple setups encouraged
Please stay and support fellow performers
Quiet, attentive audience during performances
How Open Mic Signup Works
Signup will be online (after event registration) with check-in required at the stage the night of the event.
Interested performers will sign up online upon receiving an email from Eventbrite/ATXM after RSVP.
Performers will check in at the front door with their ticket, as well as the stage (left corner). Once checked in, their name will be added to the Hat for the lottery selection.
Performer slots are selected by lottery
Selected names will be announced from the stage
Slots are limited and subject to time constraints
Show starts on time

Night Shift is designed to be easy, welcoming, and flexible—whether you’re coming straight from a gig or just popping in to connect.
🕖 7:00 PM — Doors Open + Open Mic Lottery Entry
Check in, grab a drink, and settle in. This is a great time to meet fellow musicians, ATXM Pro Community members, and music industry professionals before the night gets rolling. Sign-ups are first come, first served. Bring your instrument, your voice, or just enjoy the talent in the room.
Mingle with artists, producers, venue operators, managers, promoters, educators, and advocates from across Austin’s music ecosystem. No formal programming—just real conversations and community.
🎤 7:30 – 9:00 PM — ATXM Greetings + Open Mic
The open mic takes center stage. Performers rotate quickly to keep the energy high and give everyone a chance to share.
🌙 9:00 – 9:15 PM — ATXM Last Announcement
🎶 9:15 - 10:00 PM - Open Mic Resumes
10:00 pm - Event Ends
Wrap up the night with final conversations, new connections, and plans to collaborate beyond the room.
